Day 5

Not bad.

Breakfast: egg whites with spinach and feta cheese (3)
Lunch: grilled cheese [WW style] (3) with 1 serving of Healthy Choice Veggie Soup (1) this soup was gross, I will never buy it again. yuckies.
Snack: some tostitos with salsa (3)
Dinner: turkey chili (5) with tostitos (2)

Overall, not a horrible day. I can't say the same for tomorrow. Since it is Super Bowl Sunday, the Hubby is trrrrrrrrrying to get off work (or go in late) so we can watch the game with my mom and her bf.. the menu, oy. Hubby's famous spinach-artichoke dip (DELISH), some sort of cheesy bacon-ish dip (?) my mom is making that.. and PIZZA. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'm back on plan starting Monday. for reals.

In other news, this morning we put our first home on the market. Ever since we got married we've been tossing around the idea of listing it, and today was the day that we finally decided to do it. I have many feelings.. mostly bittersweet.. as this was the home we came home to after we got engaged and after we returned from our honeymoon. I know that it is the best for our future because our tiny little NYC apartment is just too small for us to have children, but I hate change and this is going to be a huge change. Hubby says that he wants to move back to my Mom's for a while to save some money before purchasing a house, so that is stressing me out as well because I don't have the best relationship with anyone in my family except my Mom (whom is never there, and out at her boyfriend's house).

To all you love readers.. have you read any good 'dieting' books? I tried to find "Eat Pray Loose" (?) today in the stores, but I couldn't find it. Is it worth the read? Definately need something motivational/educational/inspirational to read. Any suggestions would be great!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone! Lets go Cardinals!

Day 4

Day 4 is over.. and I want to know this:

WHY IS IT SOOOO HARD TO LOOSE WEIGHT?

Seriously, I love food. I love it so much that I have managed to gain 19 pounds since my wedding (on October 3rd). Thats 19 pounds in 4 months! WHOA.

I'm disgusted with myself. I look at my wedding pics, and I was smoking. Not in a Heidi-Klum kind of smoking way, but smoking in my own sexy little way. I was adorable. and cute. and thin.

I've been trying to figure out what I did, exactly, to get down to my wedding weight of 134, and I honestly have no clue what I did to get there. In July I started South Beach and I liked it because I was never really hungry, but I stopped following it religiously about a month or so before the wedding, so why the loss?

Weight watchers is tough for me. I always feel hungry. Maybe it's my food choices, or maybe it's because I'm not used to eating 'healthy'. Regardless, I gotta work this thing before I keep gaining weight. What is everyone out there eating to prevent themselves from coming home and diving into the treats? Please help..

Without further adieu... my food for today:

Breakfast: special K cereal with skim milk (4)
Lunch: edamame beans and sushi (6)
Snack: pretzels (1)
Dinner: whole wheat pasta w/ vodka sauce (10)

Total: 21

Recap of Day 3

Just an ordinary day in my little world..

Breakfast: life cereal with some skim milk (4)

Snack: Banana (2)

Lunch: Turkey Chili (again.. I know..) (5)

No afternoon snack, which lead to an evening of SIN in the world of weight watchers...

By the time I had gotten back to my Mom's house (an hour or so in traffic), I was famished, so I ate 3 pigs-in-blankets (I figured 3 points, but thats being liberal), then dinner was rolled out... and 'bayou chicken pasta' was on the menu .. basically this is chicken in a fettucini alfredo. AMAZING. (it's an Emeril recipe if anyone would like it) I had 1 massive serving and I have NO clue how many points that could possibly be, but at the time, I didn't care... it was that good.

Oh, and I topped the evening off with 3 glasses (!!!) of wine (6)

Overall, it was a VERY BAD night for eating.

Considering last night's debacle, I am pleased to report that today I am back on track.

I even plan on getting some activity points today by hitting up the gym! woohoooooo!

Laters gators.

Recap of Day 2

Hello Friends!

Yesterday was a CRAZY day but I did farely well with sticking to my points.. until dessert.

The day started off with me waking up to a beautiful winter wonderland outside of my window. As pretty as the snow is, I hate it (unless I'm sitting on my couch sipping hot chocolate). I had LOTS to do in the morning.. shower.. repaint our bath tub (we are listing our apartment on Saturday and we had to fix some spots) .. and pack clothes for the next few days so we can sleep at my Mom's house. *eyeroll*

As much as I love my mom.. it's my sister that I can't stand. Isn't that horrible? She is just such a mean person and I try not to be around her for too long because she makes me half crazy. haha.

Anyways, I got to work about 15 minutes late.. not bad considering the road situation.

I had a YUMMY egg white omelette with feta, tomatoes and spinach: 3 points of heaven!

For a snack, a banana: 2

Lunch was boring. Turkey chili leftovers: 5

I decided to have 2 snacks in the afternoon because the commute from work to my mom's house is at least an hour, then I had to wait for hubby to get there, so dinner was going to be late.. sooooooo, I had some carrots (0) and a yogurt with cereal (2)

Dinner was 'fake fajitas'.. the hubby hates when I call them that but in all seriousness, thats what they were. Everything for a fajita, but the wrap. hahaha. (chicken, peppers, some cheese and a dollop of sour cream): 2

THEN IT WAS DOWNHILL.

Hubby grabbed a bag of tostitos and some 'salsa con queso'. damn. my weakness. 6 points of cheesy goodness.

and since Hubby wasn't quite full after that.. we split an apple crisp (3) and I had a teeny tiny bit of ice cream (1)

Considering my indulgence in the evening, I only went 3 points over!

NOT BAD!

Hope everyone had a fabulous day! And for those of us who got hit with the winter storm.. hope you are all staying warm!

Day 1

I survived!

Day 1 wasn't too difficult because luckily I was super busy at work and had no time to think about food or snacking. Although I didn't work out as I had wanted to, I am still proud of myself to have gotten through the whole day without diving into the tootsie rolls, pretzels, or m&ms at work. GO ME!

For breakfast I had:
a pepperidge farm cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with some squirts of ICBINB spray butter: 4 points

snack: WW multigrain crackers (free at these weeks meeting.. SCORE!): 2 points

lunch: Dr. Praegers veggie burger (2 points) with 1 slice of FF cheddar (1 point) on 1 slice of whole wheat bread (2 points) and a side salad: total of 5 points

snack: banana: 2 points

dinner: my famous turkey chili with some tostitos: 8 points

TOTAL: 21 points (right where I should be!)

I will be all alone for dinner b/c the hubby has work tonight, and honestly, I can't wait until 8pm to eat dinner with him because it isn't even 7 yet, and I am starving.

Definately need to find a good/filling afternoon snack. Any suggestions?

Have a fabulous evening to anyone that is reading this!

Day 2 here I come!

About to start..

Welcome! I am new to the blogging world, but I am very excited to start this thing (the blog AND my journey) and see how it goes :-)

Tonight was my first Weight Watchers meeting, again. I had tried and somewhat succeeded over and over with WW in the past, but this time I am completely 110% committed. As I jumped on the scale and they jotted down my starting weight, I felt the tears well up. 152.6. WOW. I had managed to gain 19 pounds in 4 months. 19. Talk about a reality check.

I took my seat in the meeting and listened to everyone talk about the difficulties of loosing weight and fighting off the urge to eat cake, and after 30 minutes I got up with a renewed sense of "I can do this!"

I called my friend on the way home and she decided that she was going to do this with me. THAT made me very happy.. and knowing I have a little cheerleader makes life that much easier.

Mr. not-so-skinny (we'll call him "Mr. S") has yet to know that I went today... he would be oh-so proud of me.. but that means no more tacos for him (unless he's swinging by the local taco bell) because I just can't have that stuff in the house, and he knows that.

I will post my weight loss/gain story at a later time.. right now it's time for dinner!

TOMORROW IS DAY #1!

Wish me luck!
